Millipede cannot move?

caterpillar_36 May 13, 2005 01:59 PM

I recently acquired three african giant black millipedes, and they've all been doing fine until now. One of them has gone limp past its 32nd segment or so. The company from which I ordered them cannot offer an explanation. Has anyone here ever encountered something like this, and does anyone know what the cause might be?

Do you see any white between the working and non-working segments? Is it full grown? Has It molted recently?

No to all questions, afaik. We had only had it for a matter of days when this happened, but it was an adult. To update the situation, this millipede is now dead, though I would still be interested in what happened to it.
