What kind of Millipede is this?....Or is it even a millipede?...

Hello everyone,

Im new here. I live in Alaska an I know they dont livehere. We went to the store and bought a head of lettuce and when we came home to make a salad we found him inside. When i saw all those legs my first thought was a millipede. And when he got scared, he curled up and wrapped his legs around his head. I did some reasearch and from the pics I saw, it looked like a baby desert millipede. Which they mainly live in Arizonia. He must have gotten stuck in there and been shipped up wiht it, thats the only way I can think of. Any help would be greatly appreciated, sorry the pics arnt the best.
Am I a millipede???

It's a millipede. That curling up is a protective/defensive behavior against predators. Unless you have access to an entomologist, identifying the actual species will be difficult or impossible. A lot of produce sold in the USA was not necessarily grown here... a lot comes from places like south america, etc.
