Are these Millipedes OK?

Hi,

My son came home yesterday with 3 "giant african millipedes". He has no idea which type they are. They are a kind of brownish grey colour and around the size of a 5p when coiled so I assume they are babies! We put them into a tank with some chipped bark & leaf litter & misted it & gave them a cucumber slice. Thing is, 2 of the 3 are still exactly where we left them 24 hours ago. I assume the 3rd is OK as it seems to have dissappeared into the substrate. Are the other 2 dead? Surely they would move overnight?
