i have my millies in a 29 gal with lots of live plants, and the millies dont touch them. they also help quite a bit keeping the humidity up. i got all of my plants at home depot. when i spoke to one of the employees in the gardening center, he said that if they do get any toxic plants in, they get a note along with the plants and put warnings up on them. most of the time, they just carry non-toxic plants.

Get some edible plants in case yer pedes eat and have babies in the soil. Make sure yer soil is loosely aerated and doesn't have cedar in it. It will KILL them! Also, Make sure you have some chinese evergreens, aloe, lemon grass, some fern and a ULTRA SONIC fogger. This is a must!! I never kept Fire Red Millipedes so i don't know what their habitat, food requirements are.. I just posted a message about keeping and breeding giant pedes and giant pill bugs which after all the years of them dying on me, i'm now successfully breeding them with no ill effects....robt szymanski
