I've had the same pair of African black millipedes for about 3 years. They are housed in a 20L tank with a few hiding places and about 6 inces of a mixed substrate blend of coconut fiber bedding and "forest floor." I feed a mixed diet of whatever veggies I'm eating at the time along with stuff from my garden.

I have never witnessed them attempting to mate, but when I went to take some pictures of them today one of my adults was dead (!) and there were about 6-10 babies that I could count. One baby was hanging out on the dead adult. I also noticed some mites that weren't there before. Will adding some pill bugs at this point be better or worse with the babies? I'm afraid they'll out compete both the mites and baby pedes for food. Also should I add some of the vitamins that I keep around for my other herps?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
