WHICH CENTIPEDE???????

ironman_7_2 Nov 28, 2006 08:42 PM

I was thinking of getting a Centipede, I'm not new I have been the owner of Tarantulas, Scorpions, many different snakes, including my baby, a 15 ft berm for the past 7 years. So I was looking for the biggest Centipede I can find, anyone know what that would be? Thanks

I believe the largest pede is (Scolopendra gigantea)-origin is from Peru (Peruvian Amazon region). I had one for 11 yrs. just before Peru closed importation of its wildlife; it was about 9 inches when purchased & grew to 12 inches, although I've heard some may get larger. There is another Scolopendra--not sure of the exact species designation, but is known as the "'Haitian Giant'" & there is another very large one in Puerto Rico.

You can get more info on: arachnoboards.com

or do a search on "scolopendra"
