Yellow streaks going down the length of my iguana tail...oozing

ezrabrooks Oct 12, 2003 10:19 PM

Help! I have a healthy 8 year old iguana and today I noticed yellow steaks going down the length of her tail and yellow droplets oozing out of these yellow streaks. Now, my iguana lives the life of luxury and I dont think she has hurt her tail recently....its this an infection? the yellow liquid is watery but definately yellow. Please give some advice soon. She is my best friend, she is a very big part of my life.

Take her to a good herp vet right away. It sounds like some kind of injury or severe bruising, but I wouldn't take any chances. I couldn't even begin to guess what the problem is but it sounds like the sooner she gets medical attention, the better. Good luck, and let us know how she's doing!

Like the other person who replied, i can't imagine what would cause that. Maybe the tail took a big hit on a hard floor during a jump, I don't know.
