Black spot on viet centipede

Danotes Aug 12, 2007 08:51 PM

I recently picked up a giant vietnamese centipede and he is definitely the most interesting pet i've ever owned. but the other night when i was watching him eat, i noticed a black spot inbetween 2 leg segments, and i have become quite concerned with that. If anybody knows how to get rid of that, it would be greatly appreciated.

It may be an indication of a bacterial or fungal infection. You shouldn't attempt to treat it without experience. Generally a topical poly/neosporin ointment applied very lightly may help, but again, it depends on whether it is bacterial or fungal.

The main concern would be to keep the cage clean: free of insect carcasses & waste. House with proper humidity, temperature, water, lighting levels, etc.
