Cricket Box Help?

sd2fast4u Jun 02, 2006 02:14 PM

I need to keep crickets around because I have 7 Box turtles who love them. But I get tired of running to the bait shop and paying $3.00 a tube for them. Is there any way I can build a box and keep them alive in my garage for a few weeks at a time or longer? Please help. thanks. SD

You would be better-off raising roaches of the Blaberus genus. They are cleaner, hardier, have hardly any odor and are easier to care for.

If you are not open to roaches, there are plenty of sites that have information on rearing crickets on the internet. Crickets need more controlled conditions, is very--time/labor intensive; otherwise, you can have major die-offs.
