>>I read somewhere that some types of crickets are cannibals. I keep crickets for my aquatic turtles, buying several dozen at once and keeping them in a small terrarium.

>>I've been noticing that they seem to disappear faster than I am feeding them to my turtles. I don't think any are escaping, so I'm wondering if they are eating each other.

>>I always have plenty of cricket bites or greens available. Any ideas?
If you are not providing enough food for the crickets they will cannibalize each other.. usually feeding on the ones that died or recently molted and unable to get away. You could also be losing crickets due to an enclosure that is not escape proof...it's surprising how little space they need to squeeze out of a container.
