Dying Katydid

Me and my 6yr old daughter found a katydid in bad shape. It looks like it is dying, and my daughter wants to save it. It's the first time we have ever seen one, so we caught it and gave it water and lemon tree leaves. Does anyone have any ideas on how to save this beautiful katydid!! Or why it may be dying??
