ddale248 Nov 15, 2003 09:41 AM

I caught a widow about a week ago and she will not eat
tried grasshopers and crickets. She is also not building a good web only a few strands across the sticks in her container. Also what is the optimal temp for the black widow

Many adult widows are at the end of their lifecycle at this time of year. They typically slow down and reduce normal activity and stop eating. There is not much to be done.

Looks like it molted and started eating again. If it has small red spots on its back does that mean its young?
