Some spiders will only feed when they are left alone, i.e. not being watched. Also, I find that the webweavers I keep are much more responsive to prey that produce more vibrations in the web, such as a house fly. My Tegeneria house spiders are slow to take crickets, but give them a fly buzzing in the web, and they suddenly show an appetite. So I'd recommend trying flies and moths when they come out. For housing, a medium sized plastic container ( with tall sides ), such as a petpal or an empty ice cream tub would be fine. Substrate should be sandy, and fairly dry, but with a bottlecap water dish available.
