male L. Mactans

MasterDebater Jul 09, 2004 03:30 AM

If I wanted to find a male L. Mactans what type of area would I look. I live in a city in Texas, but have access to forest areas and fields. I recently got a female L. Mactans and would like to breed it. It was caught by my school biology teacher. So I do not know where he got it. So I cant look there.

If your female was caught from the wild as an adult, it may very well already be "gravid" or pregnant. This is very common with wild caught widows. Just wait a while, and you might get an eggsac, or two. Black widow males are tiny and very hard to find, so the best chance of getting one would be to buy one online, or buy / catch a gravid female, and raise a male from the eggsac.
