Questions of a new widow owner.....

Lizzy Aug 31, 2004 10:26 PM

About a week ago, I found what I believe to be a Western Black Widow spider.
I'm not sure how to tell if she is a juvie, or a mature female.
I just wanted to know, how often should I feed her, and what do I give her for water? I thought about misting her web, but I didn't want to harm her.
Thanks!
Lizzy

Beautiful widow. Feed her crickets grasshoppers, flying bugs (moths, flies) I have no idea what to give for water. I think they get some amount of moisture from their food.

It's all right to mist the web once or twice a week. Not heavily, but enough to put a few drops of water on the web. They will get moisture from their food also.
