Black widows... help

lokie777 Sep 29, 2004 10:18 PM

I work in an animal clinic, and have found 4 black widows in the past month, 2 which where inside, and one in a run with one of our dogs. the 4 i have captured i've donated to my college's nature center. But i'm sure there are more... and i can't catch them all. Being a buisness, and caring for peoples pets (some call them their childeren) it is a bad situation. is there anything i can sujest to our doctor, on how to get rid of them?

The best thing to do would be to hire an exterminator and explain your problem, because your not going to catch them all by yourself, and if there are many that means there are egg sacs and females bite when protecting their egg sacs. An animal can very likely get bit.

Fortunately, from what I've read, Black widows are very susceptible to pesticides.
