Brown recluse in florida?

I used to live in florida and a big topic was that brown recluses don't exsist in florida anymore. I've heard they have not found a brown recluse in florida sense early 1940's. Is this true. And alot of people have clamed to be bit by one. I have seen pictures of a brown recluse and i need another picture of it to show someone what a real bit looks like, any help would be good.
