Although we don't know by WHAT. It's a quarter-sized swelling, a small pussy area in the middle, and some local redness slightly bigger than her fist around it.
She's 21 months, BTW.
I had a similar bite about 5-6 months ago, and it isn't any bother as long as you don't TOUCH it... but mine got infected and I had angry red lines all the way up to my elbow (from the palm of my hand).
I'm checking on her frequently, giving her the max dose allowed for her size of ibuprofin, and I used hydrogen peroxide to kill as much bacteria as I can on the site.
As of about 12 hours of seeing the initial redness ( I just thought it was a mosquito bite at first), there is NO blackening, so my only worry now is infection...
Being in FL, there are many widows, and I know some people who have seen brown recluses here, too - a friend caught the one who bit her. So what should I worry about? How much more swelling is non-worrysome? Any home treatments you would suggest?
