A black widow in the Philippines

hisnameisren Oct 24, 2007 04:31 AM

I found this little lady underneath a bench out be our office parking garage. I know very little about spiders, but I did notice the distinctive hourglass on the abdomen. Any ideas as to the identity of our mystery spider? Thanks.

Both mactans and hasselti are found in the Philippines. That looks more like mactans to me.

This looks like Latrodectus geometricus (brown widow) to me.
