I agree it does look like a Satyr. Go to the link below and look at the pix of the brush footed butterflies for your state. There is also a listing of skippers.
You can look at them all via thumbnail (for the whole country but I often find this the easiest way) and when you see one similar click on it for info and whether it is in your state.

there is often some variation in coloration/markings within each species. it may also be a Hackberry Butterfly. it is native in your area
