Need help identifying this moth.

NickS Jul 18, 2004 11:41 AM

I saw this moth on my deck in western NC and found it interesting. I can't seem to be able to identify it wherever I look. Anyone know what it is?

yes, it is Clymene Moth. Neat markings. Here is a link to Moths of North America/NC. Look at the the map and if you do not live in one of those counties you can email USGS and tell them where you are, where you found it, etc.

www.npwrc.usgs.gov/resource/distr/lepid/moths/nc/1757.htm

and here is another site with more photos (live, not dead and pinned like above )
