can anyone identify this butterfly?

buggirlforever May 26, 2005 07:02 PM

I caught this lil guy at a track meet, not in great shape after getting it home and I didnt do a great job spreading its wings, but you can clearly see the markings, and I have no idea what it is. I've looked through all of my books, and searched various data bases online, and have come up with nothing. Can anybody help me? This is frustrating.

I know the frustration

Questions:
where do you live?
how large/small is the moth (I don't think it is a butterfly, but a moth)?
are the antennae clubbed(butterfly) or feathery(moth) or neither(mimic)?
was it active during day?
was it on a particular plant?
can you get a better picture??
