Help Identify Caterpillar

skyewynters Jun 03, 2005 04:29 PM

I wish I could post a picture, but alas, I cannot!

I found a apx. 1" caterpillar on my young rose bush. It is light/opaque green w/ 2 thin white lines on both of it's sides. Other than have, I have no idea what it could be.

Thanks for any and all help!

Skye

If you go to the linked site below and look thru the thumbnails you might be able to find it or one close enough so you can search a bit. Obviously a photo would help, but try this for now.

I would start with the pics for the Prominents and the Owlets

Thanks lele!

I believe it is probably a Speckled Green Fruitworm (Orthosia hibisci) because this thumbnail looks most like it.

Thanks very much for your help!

you're welcome! Now, if you do a google image search (image tab on google.com) for that species you will probably find beter/more photos - have fun!
