anyone have any idea what kinda caterpillar this is?

aka Citheronia regalis Totally harmless - the "horns" are a lot of fluff

Is it alive? Looks in rough shape. If it is still feeding you can bring it to pupation and adult. Got kids? If it is just wandering around a lot give it a contianer of moist peat and let it burrow down. If you want rearing notes just post here and I will check back later.

Where do you live? This wild silk moth has become scare in some northeastern states.
