question about a wooly bear cat

i have a wooly bear cat but all black and red stripes when he would curl up, had him for a few weeks but decided to cocoon, well he got the webbibng done and then have of him got a clear coating on him and not so fuzzy but the other halkf is normal he has been like that for a week any ideas?

it sounds like it began its pupation process, which is when they form the brown "shell" (outer skin). This usually happens in a matter of hours or at most a day (always exceptions). You can carefully tap one end and see if it moves, if so it is still alive. If not it MIGHT be dead. It is shedding its skin so needs room and moisture (not tons, but a misting cannot hurt. Can you post a photo of it
