Ok I'm using my moms account to find this out. I dont have a picture but the moth I am looking at, but I great photograph can be found on iheardavoice.com Its an AFI (band) site and I am confused and intrigued about the species of moth. So if anyone would help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you all in advance.

sorry, can't access your link. I turned off my pop up blocker and firewall, etc. but just get a blank page. If you right click on the photo, select "copy image location" then paste the link into a post here with surrounding it.

that is a silk moth (Bombyx mori - family Bombycidae)

This is the moth that is reared in the silk industry and is where we get our silk. They are related to the wild silk moths (luna, cecropia, polyphemus - family Saturniidae) but the Bombyx do not fly in the wild anymore and are totally dependent on humans for their life. Many of us who have reptiles feed the caterpillar and adult moth to them. I draw the line at the wild silks - I raise them, too.

What is your interest? You can easily purchase them, artificial chow (unless you have Mulberry trees on hand) and raise them. They are lovely as adult - they remind me of wood. They are not large, only about an inch or less.
