Nearly every ootheca that I find around here is infested with parasites. I look to see if the ooth has hatched, and if it has, I break it in half and look inside. Nearly every time, there are little worms in there that have eaten all the eggs. Now, whenever I find an infested ooth, I grind it into the ground with my foot to make sure none of those parasites survive. The little worms inside are reddish, with black on them. Im thinking that they are turning into parasitic wasps. Anyone know for sure?

Just a thought, put the parasitized ooth in a plastic bag in the freezer for a couple days. That way you are killing the inhabitants with more certainty than smashing the ooth.
