ArchStanton Dec 06, 2004 02:54 AM

Any idea why a mantis would stop eating?

It is about to molt, it is about to lay an ooth, it is stressed, or maybe it is about to die.

What's strange is that she will still catch crickets but either won't eat them or only eat part of them.

Does that mean anything?

Where are you getting the crickets? Maybe there is something on them that is offensive to the mantis? Maybe they got sprayed with something? I have not ever had that problem.

I get them locally at Petsmart or Petco.

Can mantises be picky eaters?

I wouldn't think so.

The mantis might just be full.
