S. Carolina nymphs hatching.

The pic doesn't show up. Are you the same guy on the other board that just had some hatch?
Yeah, I accidentally made my username my real name instead of MantisMan, which is what I like to use now...
The pic shows up for me... ill try again.

Here, you should be able to see it now.

Shows up now. That ooth looks a little different than most I see. Are you the same person on the other forum that plans on getting rid of some?
Yeah, im selling some of them off. Send me an email if you're interested.
How does the ooth look different?
Thanks,
Andrew
Just looks more globular than most. What are you asking for them?
They are $4.00 each plus $20.00 for overnight/express shipping. I will not start sending them through priority until they are L3.
Send me an email to africanmantis@hotmail.com to continue this conversation... I dont want to get into any trouble with the moderators again.
Thanks,
Andrew
All of the females I have caught layed ooths that were round like that. All of the females I caught also had yellow stripes under their wings. The yellow stripes were on their clear wings(ive got no clue as to what the "clear" wings are called"
and the pattern went yellow, clear, yellow, clear, you get it. Is this how S. Carolina's are?
Thanks,
Andrew
BTW I didnt mean for that smiley to be in there.
The carolinas I have seen don't have clear wings including the one I am keeping now. She has dark wings almost black with some purple.
Yep, just found it on http://bugsincyberspace.com/mantids/stagmomantis_limbata.html
My females have all been limbata, and these babies are more than likely limbata too(the ooth was WC). Thats all that has been around here.

Is the location the only difference? Or the color? Because here we have all different colors of carolina mantids. The one I have now is darkly colored. I found some green ones this summer as well. Back home in the midwest we also had different colors.
The only ones I have ever seen were green with a small white spot on the wing. They were all identical to that picture.
Thanks,
Andrew
From some of the research articles I have read, it seems that S. limbata is the most commonly occuring member of the Stagmomantis genus in California, and is found in somewhat dry/desert areas as well as metropolitan areas from Northern California south to Arizona. It shares the same habitat as the Introduced I. oratoria. I believe S. carolina is found predominatly east of the rockies. There are also several other less distributed Stagmomantis spp. found in Florida and southern California.
We have the green version here as well. Had them in the midwest too. Also have the darker colors. I have a dark colored one now.
