Has anyone ever culturing the Apple Maggot Fly (Rhagoletis pomonella) and/or the White-banded Cherry Fruit Fly (R. cingulata) for small to meduim-sized mantids? These flies are larger than fruit flies, with R. pomonella averaging about 5-7 mm, and R. cingulata about 4-5 mm. R. pomonella feeds on blueberries and hawthron berries, then pupates in the soil. R. cingulata has a similar life cycle, but it eats cherries. Perhaps these could be cultured indoors on fruit/fruit medium?
