Blepharopsis mendica (Devil's Flower Mantis)

tigermantis Feb 03, 2005 06:41 AM

Does anyone know how to care for Blepharopsis mendica? Are they easy to keep or are they considered difficult?

They are not the easiest mantid to keep. Small nymph mortality is high, and they are unable to climb smooth surfaces, which poses housing considerations.

Generally, they need dry, hot enclosures with a lot of places to climb. There is more information here: http://www.wildeyereptiles.com/sections/insects.htm

B. mendica information, specifically, is on the left in the menu bar.
