mantis as food for chamaleons

Well... im not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, if you know what i mean.
You could feed small nymphs to baby chameleons, but I wouldnt try feeding any large mantids to chameleons, the mantis could hurt the chameleon. Im not sure how nutritious a mantis would be for a chameleon anyways, most mantids are just fed crickets and/or roaches, so why not just feed crickets and roaches?

Praying mantids, while not startlingly nutritious, are an excellent feeder insect - they draw a lot of attention from a chameleon, and will entice newly imported stubborn feeders to eat. However, they should only be used as a treat as the nutritional value isnt nearly as good as properly gutloaded roaches or other feeders.
