My ootheca just hatched! Any advice would be appreciated. Right now I'd really like to know what the best way to keep them would be. I only really planned on keeping a few adults personally and giving away or selling the rest. Right now I've just partitioned them into a few different containers but I don't have very many. How early do they start cannibalizing? Can I just keep them in large groups until I start seeing them eat eachother? What works for you experienced members?

first off, this place is much more useful:

secondly, its a good idea to keep the hatchlings together for the most part in a large container. they start eating about a day after hatching, and usually that means eating each other also. however, if you provide lots of food and twigs/foliage/branches/hides/cover in the tank with them it should be ok. this is agood way of keeping so many nymphs, in one place which makes it easiert o feed them all etc. they can be seperated later when you have a more manageable number.

this isnt very good advice though, best to go to that forum and ask, theyre great over there.

best wishes
julian
