as i am new to to mantid forum what is L1,L2,L3 exc thanks for any info. butchbugs

L1, L2, etc refers to what instar, or stage of development, your mantid is at. A new hatchling is L1. After it's first molt a few weeks later, it is L2, and so on. Most males reach adulthood in about 7 molts, and females in 8 molts.
