I fed mine mostly fresh eucalyptus leaves; however, they will eat bramble, young rosebush leaves, & prob. a few other plant species.

The females live up to two years; the males live less than one year (as I recall).

Hey lizardman,

Do you know where I can get a hold of Extatosoma tiaratum?
I live in New York, but I had them as kids back in Florida, and now I'm dying to re-live my childhood and maybe take this up as a full-time hobby. Please help, or if you know of people. Thanks!

You can join a "group" on yahoo, like: "stickinsect" or "bugsforsale". Members there may be able to point you in the right direction. I do not belong to either group, myself. Also, you ocassionally check out e-bay. Be aware that it may be illegal to keep certain species of phasmids in the USA, due to potential pest problems.
