Australian Spiny Leaf / Stick Insect

sandrachameleon Feb 05, 2008 02:14 PM

Hello

Does anyone have any tips for successfull hatching of these phasmids? My Indian Walking Stick eggs hatch without any help or effort, but I've been waiting a long time on the Australian Spiny Leaf eggs, and I wonder if perhaps they need special environmental factors

Wouldnt you know. Not long after posting my question on what is needed to help them hatch, one finally did so without anything different done on my part.

Anyone know where I can purchase a male?

Austrailian prickly sticks do not need a male to produce viable eggs. All the ones i ever kept were females. The hatch rate isn't as great but all the hatchlings will end up being female.
