has anyone ever found worms (round worm, ring worm, tape worm...) or any nasties in their roach colonies?

I have seen them in colonies that use dog or cat food as a food source. There might also be maggots present. I don't use meat-based feed for my roaches. I have the best results with mouse/rat pellets. I run them through a blender to pulverize them to a powder. Also, just put enough in the enclosure that they can finish in a couple of days. That way, it doesn't draw parasites and maggots.
