hi all,

I just started a colony of Hissers, my hope is to eventually use Hissers instead of crickets for feeding my Tegus. I was lucky enough to get breeders sizes so they are already having babies...thanks Morgana at Reptayls. I am using Bug Boundry which seems to be working, so no escapees yet.

They are more interesting to watch than I thought...thanks, Bennett for turning me on to these guys.

Dave

how many female breeders do you have to get 2000 babies. Also are you using the Hissers and feeders?

True, you work with ( cockroaches) so long, watching them molt, etc. you feel you know them. When I got up to about 2000 in total, I had to begin culling out. I still count all newborns, then they go.

How long would it take to inbreed one line to get eye color mutations? Or how many generations, I should say?
