Starting an Orange Headed Roach Colony, Help Wanted.

Catfur Aug 14, 2004 01:22 AM

I am starting an orange headed roach colony for feeders for my roomate's and my panther chameleons. I have obtained an old chest freezer to locate them in the garage (no space in apartment). I got a freezer for the insulation since the garage is unheated and it gets ultra cold here, I will be using a ceramic heater to heat them. My biggest concern is airflow. Does anybody have any ideas on keeping them well aired out, other than opening the top frequently?

Thanks

What about setting up a screen top and leaving the top open all the time?

Well, it gets down to -30 F here, so no go on that. The whole reason I bought a freezer was to have an insulated box to control the temperature in. I was wondering just how much airflow would be needed.

you also need to be concerned about humidity, dont let it get too high, shoot for 50%
