feeding animals roaches instead of crickets

maclen Aug 17, 2004 04:41 PM

I have been feeding my animals all roaches for probably a year now, and every time I read a care sheet it says give crickets and usually mentions roaches as an occasional food. Is there anything a matter with feeding my animals all hissers/lobster roaches?? It is so much easier than ordering crix all the time and less messier, I dont know why people prefer crickets unless it is better for the animal.
Thanx, brian

Always heard that roaches are better cause their is more meat to them. Also lobsters are better cause of the soft shell so no impaction like you might see with hissers.

But i'm very new to the roach scene just alot of reading. I think most care sheets say crickets cause roaches are fairly new for feed and crix are more readily available.
