Roaches dont go on their backs unless they are dying and fish dont swim upside down. Roaches give live birth and the babies just come out like this:

O.K., great.
Well, yesterday she was going crazy cruising the tank, going fast. Then last night it seemed as if she was (for lack of a better way to say it) in labor, it seemed like she was trying to push something out of her, and her "rear" was open and it seemed as if there was something that was trying to be pushed out.
We turned her over a few times, but she would quickly go back on her back.
Any insight as to what I am observing? One of the sites on the web I read indicated that it could take 2 days for all the roaches to hatch out.
what type of roach is it?

It is a Madagascan Hissing Cockroach.
have you seen the egg sack come out yet? I have never seen them try to push anything out. They act normal with the egg sack protruding and when they give birth they stay fairly still. If it is flipping over it may be a neurological problem, definately not birthing behavior. The birthing process does not take long, under an hour.
I found that some candles and insence fumes can kill hissers.

I don't burn inscense or to many scented candles and haven't done so lately.
No nothing has come out of her at all. I guess she is going to die then.
