Mattman ... no slip shelf liner... test results...

BeginnersBasics Oct 13, 2003 07:48 AM

Ok, I tried it...

I went out last Thursday morning and bought enough for all of my adults neodesha cages.

I have had to clean up both normal (good) poops and a couple not so good and runny poops between then and now.... and......... I am SOLD!
This stuff is so easy to keep clean. It looks nice and it even brightens up the cage some Spilled pellets are easier to remove and I think it is just cleaner / healthier and just down right BETTER! LOL

Should have done it months ago when I first noticed you posting about using it

Oh and I bought the light "marble" looking stuff LOL no brightly colored flowers or grid lines

I'm glad it is working out for you. LOL I know all I can find is the plaid or flowered I have a bright red checkered you would just love. I get them at the dollar general what do you want.
Your right though it does add lots of light to the cages. I actually like the light tan colored ones for that reason.
Saves lots of time right with all those cages to clean? I know when I first thought about using them, I was excited I found something so easy. At the time I was using the repti carpet and changing them every other day it seemed cause it was hard to clean. The poop would soak in, or the greens would dry and just be impossible to get out. Just weekly or whenever you want to wash them fully, soak them in a tub of hot water and bleach. Rinse it out real well so no bleach or smell of it is on it and hang them up for a day. Gets them spotless cleaning them like that. Saves lots of money and time. Glad you like it. I just like how with a little effort daily you can have a spotless bright clean cage for them, and for when people come over. I know I hate having people see messy cages. I have so many cages, and dragons if I kept them messy it would just be a shame.

I also decided to try the self linner after reading mattmans suggestion. And I must say, I absolutly love it! I had tried just about every substrate available, from playsand to wheatbran to paper towels. The self liner is by far the easiest to clean and the most attractive. I used some olive green liner and I must say that my tanks look much cleanier and bighter. Thanks for the suggestion Mattman!

Glad it is working for you and with daily spot cleans you can really keep sanitray, healthy enviromrnts for the beardies. Another good thing about them is they lay flat so no crickets can get under and pop out at night too stress the dragons during sleep. I'm very happy my idea is easing some things that in the past were difficult to do daily especially if you keep many dragons/ Glad you like, and I'm sure you dragons will be happy with nice clean sanitary cages. I gave Lisa above a good way to fully clream them in her post. Good Luck.
