I switched from the Johnson&Johnson to a generic brand and the baby roaches crawl over it like there was nothing there. The J&J used to stop 99% . anyone else notice a difference?

Some petroleum jellies have a thicker viscosity than others. When I have a bunch of baby roaches (Hissers & Lobsters), I use a combination of mineral oil and Vaseline(pj). I put about 2" of mineral oil & 1" of Vaseline at the topmost inner perimeter of the roach tanks. The mineral oil is below the Vaseline.
Don't use too much mineral oil, as it tends to drip. Also, as these petroleum-based compounds dry, they will need to be replenished.
I use bug boundary, but I know Dan at crunchy critters has a food base grease that works better than vaseline and is pretty cheap.

I just use Crisco vegetable cooking grease. It works great and is very cheap. Just check out Wal-Mart...
