i got 35 or so lobster roaches from a friend in trade for some mealies months ago, and they did not do well at all. i had them set up on some dirt with egg crate on top, some bran, gut load and cat food in one dish and fresh fruit/veggies in the other (whatever i happenend to cut up for the veggie lizzys i have) and it got to the point i only had like 2-3 left so i said f-it, and gave up. i went on vacation and forgot about them, they were in a 35 gal trash can and out of the way and not smelly so dumping it out was not top of the list (30 animals in the house, time is always short) well we went to do a big cleaning and we were just going to dump the substrates we were cleaingin into the trash and for some reason my husband tilted the dirt a bit and HOLLY COW!!! id say ive got 150 or so roaches running around in the trash can now. im goiong to let them grow another week or two then start feeding out or there im SO excited!!
im not new to herps and the like but i thought you guys could use a laugh at a roach newbie!!
