Discoid breeding question

JRM Oct 17, 2005 08:52 PM

I recently started Discoid my colony with eleven large nymphs. I now have six adults and five large nymphs. Can these cockroaches get "pregnant" before they reach adulthood? I was wondering, because I already have about 100 baby nymphs too. The adult roaches have only been in this stage for about two weeks now, and I was told that it takes longer than that for the eggs to hatch and emerge from their mothers.
Thank you.

Nymphs cannot produce young. It is likely that the first two you didn't notice right away. They pretty much will start breeding right after the molt. Well I guess just be glad they are doing what you wanted.
