true insect?

i am new to the roach and insect world and doen't know what a true insect or true bug is? i have heard the terms but don't know the meaning.thanks

True bug is the common name for the insects under the order Hemiptera, suborder Heteroptera. You might be familiar with some of them. Stink bugs and assassins are good examples.

I've never heard "true insect" having any particular meaning, so I assume it ust refers to any organism belonging to the class Insecta.

No, it wouldn't. Insects are generally six-legged. Tarantulas belong to a different class, Arachnida, which includes spiders, scorpions, mites, and ticks. Now there is a difference between a true spider and a tarantula.
