"bad" foods?

tatbeesh Aug 09, 2006 07:33 PM

Hello -
I have started a colony of Madg.Hissing roaches, I have had some breeding success, however I'm new at this and was wondering if there is anything I SHOULDN'T feed my roaches? So far, so good with the ground up cat food, carrots, cooked chicken now and then..is there anything that might be potentially harmful to them?
Thanks,
Tatiana

Check that the moist-type of foods are changed out before they get moldy or start to smell bad. Moisture causes bacterial & fungal growth to flourish in a roaches environment; however, we don't tend to have the same types of bacteria or fungus that is found on Madagascar; so, fresher is better.
