hisser temps, food etc

Hi,

My 10 year old got a couple of hissers when school let out last year. They were classroom roaches that some of the kids got to take home after school let out. He is the only one who kept his alive all summer. Seems the other kids just stopped caring for theirs. He has two and they are pretty good size.

We didn't use any supplemental heat during the warm months, as our house stays warm. Will they be happier and healthier in my snake room this winter, at mid-70's rather that the cool upper 60's that our house is usually at in the winter?

Also, they have been eating dog food. What are some other healthy morsels that we should be giving them now and then? Thanks. Duffy

Keeping them in the snake room would be a far better idea. They like warmth, ideally upper 80's.

As a treat feed fresh veggies and fruit. Also, I think feeding them cat food would give them a higher source of protein.

Hope this helps.
