Hello, I am trying to get a false death head colony going and the are not breeding. I started with about 25 3 months ago and no luck. I feed lots of greens and half of the container is heated about 88. Do thet require more protein? Thanks Matt

B. discoidales is fairly omnivorous. I'd suggest to provide more protein & carbs. For protein, I'd go with dog chow or cat chow with no dyes added. Walmart has some good cheap chows. You can also use non-medicated chicken mash which is available at most feed & supply stores. For the carbohydrates, provide more fruit, like apples, melons, oranges, etc; continue with the greens. My favorite root vegetable is the carrot, since it is fairly mold resistant. Remove fruit &/or vegs after a day due to mold.
If you go down the previous threads & search the net, you can get more info on tropical roach breeding.
You may just be stressing them out too much. Give them lots of privacy, and don't look for babies.
