Here is instructions for my tank
CO2 Chamber
I use one similar to that except I just connect a hose from the CO2 tank through the top of the lid of a large plastic jar (bulk mayo jar). I poke a small hole in the lid also for air to escape(so pressure does not build up in the jar). That is it. Just make sure the mice are dead. This may seem stupid but their diaphram must stop moving before you remove them from the jar or there is still a chance they can wake up and they will have brain damage (that isn't very humane). CO2 is the best way to euthanize mice.
i wont be doing this any time soon i am just checking in on this stuff before i buy my monitor. also do i have to wait a certain amount of time before i feed them to my lizards?
This is my setup. It looks pretty similar to everyone else's. Guess that means it's an effective design. I use a Sterilite shoe box instead of a jar. I find that if I put a paper towel in the bottom before I add the mice, it make clean up much easier. They tend to urinate when they expire. I have put a small hole in the lid to allow the good air to escape as the chamber fills with CO2. I've dispatched up to 10 adult mice at a time with this.
